HTPG Celebrates the 75th Anniversary of Russell
Campaign includes Russell Vintage Models Contest
Duluth, GA – October 21, 2021 – Heat Transfer Products Group, LLC (HTPG), manufacturer of commercial refrigeration equipment sold under the recognized brands of Russell, Witt, Kramer and ColdZone, is celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Russell brand. The campaign kicks off with a historical website and Russell Vintage Models Contest.
“This is a significant achievement for Russell and we are proud of the positive impact we have had in the industry,” said Paul Westbrook, HTPG’s director of sales and marketing. “We would not be where we are today without our partners, customers, and sales representatives that have stood by us all these years to make Russell a trusted brand. We are very grateful for their partnership. Our employees’ passion and dedication to reach new levels of excellence and embrace sustainable thinking has moved us to an even brighter future,” he continued.
The Russell 75th Anniversary website,
russell.htpg.com/75anniversary, has a timeline and milestones, product brochures, advertisements, and company brochures from the 1950s to today. Additional content will be added each month during the campaign. The Russell Vintage Models Contest details are also found on the site. The contest runs October 1 to December 30, 2021 and is open to Russell customers and contractors in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. Contestants with the top three oldest working Russell models will receive a commemorative Russell 75th Anniversary bundle of logo merchandise plus a VISA® gift card: First place $1,000; second place $100; and third place $50. The online entry form is quick and easy to complete. All valid entrants will receive a commemorative aluminum sports bottle. Winners will be announced in January 2022 at the AHR Expo.
What began in Southern California in 1946 as Russell Coil Co., manufacturing coils for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, has grown into a premiere brand of award-winning commercial refrigeration equipment. The company introduced the All-Temp Unit Cooler in 1948, which quickly became the industry’s all-purpose, low profile unit cooler for small to medium walk-in coolers and freezers. It has undergone several redesigns through the years, but still remains a top performer today with the Next-Gen All-Temp Low Profile Unit Cooler.
In 1967, Russell Coil Co. was acquired by Ardco Glass Company. Russell became a division of the Heat Transfer Products Group division. The company continued to expand and released numerous new unit coolers, condensers and other equipment specifically designed for commercial refrigeration applications.
Through the years, the company changed ownership a couple more times and in the 2013, HTPG and its brands were sold to Rheem and joined Rheem’s family of brands as the commercial refrigeration segment of their business. “Rheem’s investment in growing the product portfolio, increasing efficiency and quality in manufacturing, and moving the company towards more energy-efficient and innovative solutions has resulted in six consecutive years of product design awards, and an incredibly strong future,” said Westbrook.
